Radiological department №1 (Department of radioiodine therapy)

In October 1998, the radioiodine therapy station was opened for 10 beds. After reconstruction in March 2008, the post of radioiodine therapy was allocated as a separate unit in the institution. The koet fund increased to 20.

The department has in its composition:

  • hospital for radiological patients
  • block of open radionuclide sources

The department diagnoses and treats radiopharmaceutical I¹³¹ patients with diagnosed high-grade thyroid cancer and diffuse-toxic goiter. And also since June 2013 a technique of palliative treatment of the pain syndrome associated with bone metastases with the help of the radiopharmaceutical "Metastron" has been introduced.

The Radiological Department No. 1 is one of the leading departments in the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the "GOKOD" institution, which provides radioiodine therapy services.

The department has modern equipment, qualified medical staff and comfortable conditions for patients to stay during treatment.

Control and management of the equipment of the wards at the nurse's post, control of the evacuation system, radiometric control, selector, telephone communication.

Block of open radionuclide sources

In the block of open radionuclide sources, the patients are given out and receive capsulated radiopharmaceuticals

Conditions of stay

After taking the capsule, the patient is isolated in a separate, comfortable single room. The patient leaves the "active" chamber when the exposure dose rate reaches 3 μSv per hour.

Every day a patient is bypassed by a department doctor and a dosimeter to inspect and measure the dose rate.

  • Radioiodine diagnostics (RID) – 1200 BYN (35.000 RUB) .

  • Radioiodine therapy (RIT) - 3 GBq – 2.500 BYN (74.000 RUB)

The price includes: consultation of a doctor-specialist, examination by the attending physician, stay (5-6 days) in a comfortable single room, three meals a day, capsules RFP (I-131), clinical dosimetry, whole body scintigraphy.

  • Treatment of diffuse-toxic goiter - 1300 BYN (39.000 RUB).

The price includes: consultation with a doctor-specialist, examination by the attending physician, stay (7-10 days) in a comfortable single room, three meals a day, capsule RFP (I-131), clinical dosimetry, scintigraphy of the thyroid gland.
